EO 8 problems

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I find that relaunching my EO 6 when it decides "it loves the ground as much as it loves the air" is a matter of giving it slack and letting it flop around until it figures out which way is up. Then it just seems to take off.

I have havd very little trouble with the EO 6. Wind range is good and I can launch from holding the kite in my hand. Larry is correct that giving the EO 6 slack and it will correct its self.

But not the EO 8. I was able to fly the thing today. A person stood on a small hild down wind from me. I let out ablut 80 feet of line. The wind was at abount 6 MPH. As the kite was released, I let out line slowly keeping as small amount of tension on the line. The kite sat in the air very nicely at the end of the line.

As I was pulling the kite in, at around 40 to 50 feet of line; the kite fliped and flattened out just before it hit the ground.

When the kite was at the end of the line, I do not play with the tension at all.

My EO 8 flys, put with a lot of conditions that does not make the kite enjoyable.

Yep, in enough wind, without enough wind sometimes you can't get it to roll for relaunching though. My 10 and the 8 I tried out would fold flat whenever they were on the ground, puts you in sort of a face down, nose forward situation, and they don't dead launch.

Sort of turns the "Walk of Shame" into the "Walk of Irritation".
