One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Jacob Riis Park, Rockaway, Queens, NY, September, 12th and 13th.

This is taking place contrary to what you may have heard.

Just a heads up.

I went last year and it was very well attended. It's sponsored by an Asian company so it's primarily Asian. EVERYONE was flying single line kites. They were spilling over into the roped off area where the quad guys were flying.

There were some big SLKs too - like the Octopi and giant fish. I don't have anything to compare it to because I don't travel much but it seemed pretty decent. It was a little on the cold and windy side but I wouldn't have said it was a bust.

I got the days off, so I will be wandering by to check it out and get some beach flying in.

Look for something Bensonish if you want to stop by and chat, Deep Space, Gem, Matchbox, along those lines. I might pull out an xt.Z.. haven't decided what to bring yet actually.

Hope to see you guys.

Arrived at JfK at 7 am today. Raining and blowing hard.

Hoping for better skies tomorrow when the festival begins.

Saturday is supposed to be hit or miss with the weather, but Sunday is shaping up to be a real gem.

As far as last year, the fact that the festival was pushed back to October made for some bad conditions. The wind was over 20mph the whole day that I was there, just useless for the kinds of kites I fly. I flew my Micron stack most of the time I was there, even my vented kites were getting overpowered. This year should be nice, warm, and sunny, though. Hopefully the wind will be less than abusive...

Looking forward to meeting some of you out there.
