Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Anybody used Rascal Kites ?

I ordered some Boa straps from them as a favor for a fella on Fractured Axel, but I received nothing and the
vendor is not responding to emails.

Yeah... placed an order 3 months ago, was sent an invoice (which I paid via PP) and not only has nothing shown up but ZERO response to many phone calls.  Might be a good idea to post a sticky to warn others to not shop there.

Their web site hasn't changed in three or four years. I think it's a zombie site.

Website registration update February of this year.

Assuming they also updated/paid their AKA dues as they are listed as a Merchant Member here:

http://aka.kite.org/local/find_mm.php?f=mrch&region=2

Hate to say it, but you might want to reach out the the AKA Region 2 director, in case this is a health related issue.... or worse.

Contact for Dan McGee the AKA Director for Region 2 can be found here:

They have bought from us (New Tech ) but we haven't had boas to ship for a long time so for all practical purposes they are unavailable. Five surfaced in the debris of the warehouse and were shipped in 2013 no more.   Our source for the soft webbing dried up.

Bumping this up as a fellow kite flyer has reported a current issue with an order placed with an entity called Rascal Kites in the US. The purchaser is in Australia. The matter was raised on another site (Kitelife, if I am permitted to say) and a general google search on the name points to GWTW and this thread.

My questions:

1. Were the issues raised here resolved with Rascal? and

2. Does anyone have any insights on connecting with the company? It is apparently still listed with the AKA but there does not seem to be a current telephone number listed there, and email by the fellow kiter has not been responded to.

It may just be a matter of miscommunication.

I could post a link to the Kitelife thread if appropriate.

Response here, or by pm or email to me, or directly to the matter on Kitelife would be appreciated.

webbing straps that have a second plastic D ring at the top. you can take the webbing loop and insert it through the second D ring and it makes comfy finger loops.
They were a long time Goodwinds product that I think New Tech picked up for a time.
