One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Please spare a though for those on the East Coast affected by Hurricane Florence.

There are many great folks in the kiting community in the Wilmington/Outer Banks area ... we hope y'all stay safe and your property is spared.

Hunter Brown (Focus Kites), Mike Agner (Cape Fear Kite Festival) and the Shooks (Flying Smiles Kites), others I'm forgetting I'm sure.

A couple of my favorite flying sports in the US are right there - Nag's Head, Wrightsville Island and Bald Head Island ...  I hope there is some beach left at the end.

Evacated a few times living on the Gulf coast. One neighborhood I lived in (Panama City Beach)was completely wiped out. We wouldn't stick around during any hurricane or tropical storm. Not even to fly my new to me HQ Delta Hawk. I was a disaster on my Jet Stream Speed. Now I won't have to fly my Mind Trick vented in over 30mph. It always amazes me how many we lose after the brute force of the storm has passed. Sucks. Looking forward to seeing what this Hawk will do in a teeny tiny blizzard though  Grin.

It crossed my mind to fly my Flexifoil as the winds came up.  However, good sense prevailed and we just hunkered down for the duration.  And the bridge was closed so we couldn't get to the beach no matter how much we wanted to.  Things are opening up now but with very limited resources.  People are returning home to assess damages.  Some have no home to return to.  Needless to say, the weekly community kite fly was canceled.  The local kite shop survived.  Life continues.
