One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Deeply saddened to read this news.

They brought such joy of a special kind, each in their own way (and together).

I will be flying one of theirs in memory. There are a few to chose from...

Wow.

Mikes been on Facebook quite a bit in the last year or so using Pam’s old account. It was like an extension of their long partnership in the kite community.

He will be missed.

Not been at this kite thing long but reading about Pam and Mike made me need this .I have another that's 9.5 out of 10 to compare. When my sewing skills are up to snuff restoring this kite will be something special for me. Remembering the history of this sport and those who came before.A toast to all those past sailmakers that put such huge grins on our faces.

I'm dejected, The phone call I received today from San Diego was not what I was ready for.
When I was told of Mike's passing a hole opened up inside me and my heart fell in.
Since Pam's passing Mike and I talked a lot about life, kites, bicycles, shooting/guns, diecast and most of all friends/family.
He was up/gunho about getting started to build kites again, Starting off with the NSR, Sewing new sail color/patterns.
Mike was in the middle of building new frames for my NSR and Sizzle. Finished or not I will aways cherish Mikes craftsmanship.
Mike's passing is a great loss to the kiteing world. His knowledge alone and willing to help out other's wil be sorely missed.
There's so much more I can say about Mike my friend but for now I'm mourning his loss. Heartbroken Flyer, Warren

Mike Dennis was one of my best kitefriends in the USA.

WOW this is just.......... I don't have the words.  I got to know Mike quite well in the last couple years and was looking forward to meeting him in person. I was just talking to him a few weeks ago about how things were going with getting the NSR back in production and he was quite excited to be building kites again.  Didn't even sound like anything was wrong other than missing Pam something fierce.  I learned a LOT about kite building from them and  Pam was always willing to talk shop if I needed a sewing tip.   At least they're together again.   Embarrassed Embarrassed Cry

On a side note, Pam and Mikes cat, "Bubba" was taken in by the San Diego humane society. I called them today and he is still with us, given his age etc. I can only hope someone will care for him for the rest of his natural days. I can't even imagine how sad he must be. He was very close to Pam and stayed in a drawer for a good time after she left us. Anyway, if you'd like to contribute something in their memory, a donation to your local A.S.P.C.A. is something I believe they both would have been grateful for.
