Time for new speakers?

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

It was time to downgrade my honking big 12" sub that was in an enclosure about the size of a coffee table. I found a smaller 8" 200watt Energy at Costco for only $99.00.
I then discovered Energy has a 5 pack to complete the system for only $199 (free shipping, no tax) All reviews i could google say this 5.1 package smokes, even compared to the Bose satellites that i thought were good, so now i'm replacing them all.

Speakers are a very personal thing.

Sadly, as 60 fast approaches, the highs are less noticeable. Clear bass is still a good thing.

Our TV has a 5.1 system setup with some no-name speakers that sound pretty darned good with the powered sub-woofer and no-name center.

In the home office, our computer and iTunes plays through an external receiver and my 37 year old Klipschorns. Although big and heavy, they boast an almost 40% conversion efficiency. They are too big for the room acoustically speaking, but we can't get rid of those gorgeous sounding monsters and their oil-filled capacitor crossover networks.
