I started a monthly pledge to the Forum as a personal auction.

And many of you have donated kite sales.

Any Forum needs new blood to stay alive.

In the words of a great man.

Peace. Out.

Okay, I am not a 100% up-to-date.

But if the problem is "just money" there should be a way to solve that.
Paypal, Patreon or whatever.
Tell me how to give and I will. (I did and do that at the german "Drachenforum" for years)

If it is lost interest, no time for family or other private circumstances, then the question is, is there somebody who can keep the forum up (instead of Steven)?
That is much more difficult.
It would be best if the infrastructure has not to change (if the forum doesn't have to "move") for that ...
Sorry, but if that is the case I don't think I can help (still living in Denmark).

Best regards,  Jens

the donate button was removed so as not to give the false appearance that donating now would somehow "save the forum".
if you still feel compelled to send something through PayPal, perhaps in consideration of a recent swap meet deal, my account would be kitekid@gmail.com or ... paypal.me/kitekid

to me it wasnt a "save the forum button" as much it was a thanks for everything.
I find it tough to even express it well enough what the forum means.

in some ways it's like morning coffee or a comfy chair; a constant respite and distraction from the world combined with a far reaching christmas morning of the swap meet; finding kites that you didnt even know existed and getting to experience that new "toy" and if you found you a kite that didnt make the "a" bag you could release it back into the swap meet for someone else to enjoy.
Difficult to find an equal amount of joy in the modern world then this little corner of it. I will be truly saddened when it's gone

thank you Steve for everything!

This all suddenly got real when I noticed my sponsor ad and thread were gone. Okay then...

With gratitude to Steve, and in the interest of making sure that all of you GWTW Forum users have what you need to make your kites fly, it's time for Fly Market Kitemaking Supply to have a sale. This weekend, May 4-5, enter the code GWTW at checkout and get free USPS Priority Mail shipping on your order (within the USA). Or enter GWTWINTL for $10 off on USPS shipping worldwide. Buy whatever you want, big or small, light or heavy, and save on shipping. Got old sport kites that need new APA connectors instead of old vinyl tubing? Busted a leading edge? Bridles fraying? We've got you covered. Surf over to www.flymarketkites.com this weekend and get what you need.

Thanks Steve. It's been a good run.

No recent swap meet activity from me, but I'm going to Paypal you a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada anyway as a thank you for your place in the kite world.

Steve and Contributors on this great Forum,

It has been a real pleasure sharing my kite development activities with all of you and receiving your input, which has guided me over five plus years.

Steve,

This would not have been possible without this great Forum and your associated support.  God Speed my friend on your future endeavors.

Yours in kiting,

Doug
