Ray, I can't think of a 6ft kite for precision, but if your willing to go a little larger, you might consider the Prism Quantum or the Premier Wolf NG.

Ken,
You're too nice. Were all trying to sell your kites! LOL
I was told that the Mamba, even tho is is 8' doesn't pull, and I didn't think that it was going to fly like it does! It is very light in pull and flies like a dream. The only thing that I have problems with is putting the center tee together in 30 degree weather, but I feel that I'm one of the few that fly in cold weather.

Ray, if you still want a smaller kite. I'd get a Skybuner from Jon at Kites and Fun Things. Both Ken and Jan are top notch to work with. I believe the Wolf is one Jon helped design.

Still going to keep my vote at a Mamba as I don't own a Skyburner kite yet. Hopefully will get one this year!

Nate, you can ream that tee out with a sharp 1/4" bit by hand. I usually hot drill them at 15/64 because I like a little firmer fit.

Sorry for the hijack Ray!

Ray, when you spec 6-foot kites, what is that draws you to that size? Is it budget, pull, nimbleness, or something else?

The Mamba "field folds" to about 66 inches, but goes down to 37 inches if you fold the leading edges. Pretty much the same +/- as most "full size" kites.

I've read where the Wolf can be twitchy for some. That's been said about the Nighthawk too. Lighter inputs on my Nighthawk and I don't have a issue. Really fun kite. Wolf will replace my Nighthawk when the time comes. If a good deal comes along I'll get one before then.Wouldn't call it precision and doubt the Wolf would be much more precise. My Sky Dog Black Dog at 77" is maybe even a little more than twice as precise. Still easy to oversteer because of size.Due to skills I tip wrap it more than my other kites. Needs a wider throw when attempting cascades for example. Whisker design makes it difficult to do most ground work. Only 2 and there's a lot of flex. Doing a low ground pass attempting sharks it's not quit on a rail but close. It's my bad weather kite. Pretty dang tough. This is my second one. There's one on Ebay but it's pretty pricey. I've read where the Red Dog(ul) is even better.Don't know about the Mamba but my Mongoose seems pretty precise. Can't ever stop trying to trick the dang thing to really find out though LOL.
