Another kiteflyer and builder passes away

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

  Erv Crosby owner of our local kite shop has lost his battle with cancer.Most of you know he closed his shop to deal with the treatment .One of the nicest guys around and he was a good friend, he will be missed..Prayers go out to his family....

  Thank you for letting us know about Erv.  I am very sorry to hear of his passing away.  Erv was one of the nicest kite shop owners I ever had the pleasure of meeting and doing business with.  He will be greatly missed by those of us who knew him.

I am deeply saddened to hear this. My Nebulas are some of my most prized kites. Erv just made them for me this year. I never got to meet him in person, and am sad that I never will. My condolances to those who were friends with him.

He was a heck of a guy.  I met him several times at kite hill - loved to talk about kites, always fun to chat with.  I met him there just a few months ago - cancer sucks.

I can remember when I first met him............................shortly after I started :'(I had a smashed leading edge on the 1.5 SLE-if you can imagine that  ) and in need of both top and bottm leading edges on the Alpha+.  I think he understood the Alpha, but in no way could figure out the SLE

He just smiled at me, fixed the Alpha and handed me the Rev rod and then shook his head..........
All he said was "I guess you need a little practice, huh?"

I flew with Marty in comps during the early and mid-90s... Great guy, he will be missed.
