is there a free windows 7 download?

Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Sorry, the Windows 7 RC is no longer available for download

Sorry the Beta program is over, you'll have to wait for the release and purchase an upgrade. It never was free, all the Beta's were time limited and would quit working at some point in time.

however i believe she said her boss's computer was new and if that's the case, check with the vendor you bought it from as many to most new computers sold today with vista include coupons or some other means to upgrade to W7 upon release.

otherwise new computer sales would screech to a halt until release.

Even if it wasn't quite that new, just the last month or two they've been offering that, it might be worth a call to support if it's still under warranty, you might be able to finagle the upgrade offer out of them at a significant discount at least.

We never took advantage of the last one we had available, it still cost $15 or something for shipping & handling, it's probably still in effect anybody want Vista for $25?  unopened

If you don't like Vista, Windows 7 won't thrill you. From a user perspective it's not that different. You'll have even more SW compatibility issues too.
