One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

It is my pleasure to announce that there will be a kite festival on the Outer Banks (Corolla, NC in this case) this Thanksgiving weekend. Follow the link below for some more info. The early support/reactions have been very encouraging. For those that wish to join us, contact me right away about housing. While we aren't able to offer free rooms, the price we are arranging can't be beat.

Nice pictures! I remember when the mni golf course before it was covered by the sand dune. The last time we were there was about 5 years ago and the castle was just about covered up. Funny to see that it's mostly uncovered now. I loved the OBX before it was "discovered".

Thanks Lolly.

Also, thanks to our other manufacturer sponsors: Prism, Jackite, Gomberg and NewTech,

I can hardly contain myself I'm so excited for Thanksgiving.

Thanks to the sponsors listed above many of the attending flyers will be going home with some new gear.  For example: Revolution is sending an embroidered kite bag.

Thanks to Flying Smiles Kites we will all be eating spaghetti at a local restaurant friday night.

There is still one King sized bed available at an amazing price.  Contact me for details if you're interested.

How did Flying Smiles make out from that huge storm that churned up high winds and waves all along the NC and VA coast last week?   The weather channel said the OB got hit pretty hard.

Hope all is well with Cath and Elliot.

I spoke to Eliot on Friday.  He and cath are fine, store and home are also fine.  Lots of standing water in the roads, beach walks and access points got hit pretty hard, but crews are rebuilding those trying to get ready for Thanksgiving.  They heard we were coming to fly kites.  The worst damage was south of them.

Scott,

Glad everything is fine with Cath and Elliot. Thank you for posting the info.  They are great folks.  Smiley

I'm cooking  a turkey dinner and my Mom, whose is 84, is joining us.    Thanksgiving on OBX sounds like a great time.  Smiley
