One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I simply cannot believe it. I was working on consistent yofades in slightly higher than normal wind with my Organic. Flying down, first pop to bring the nose forward for the reverse wrap. Heard a weird sound in the air followed by a weird thing extending from my nose. Already knew what was happening when I landed the kite  Cry

Probably the nose wedding material have already been weakened from the excessive abuse but its weird that an aggressive first pop for a yo fade would cause the spine to pierce through like that. Anybody have any similar experience?

I'm really going to need a picture of the "nose wedding material" to understand what you've done here.  Embarrassed You've popped the spine through the nose doing something other than lawn darts ?!?!11?!?

Yes. I'm almost sure the nose wedding is already considerably weakened. This "accident" happened barely 5 minutes into flying, no lawn darts prior at all. I was pretty sure the kite was assembled properly.

I won't be surprised if I nose dived the kite and caused the spine to poke through. I'm just genuinely curious if the input for a yo fade (or anything else at all) would cause any above normal pressure from the spine into the nose.

May I ask you to do me a favour please ? Do a Google search for "nose wedding" and then do another one for "nose webbing".  Wink

The only nose/spine damage I've ever inflicted was to an SUL after many hours of use. If this is conventional Dacron~seat belt material nose treatment then any regular flying, such as a YoFade should be precisely nothing. I have had one otherwise bulletproof-looking one simply unstitch as soon as I looked at it though so.... manufacturing defect ?
