One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Grey, it's the new black Wink
Fred, Bram and Carlo trying to get rid of a hangover while flying our grey kites in grey outfits on the grey beach of IJmuiden. Great wind, great weather and a lot of trash-talking...

Thats the best kite video I've seen in a long time. I wish I could fly with you guys.

Nice smooth flying.  I can actually tell whats going on instead of the kite smashing around like it's broken.  I don't understand why people fly like that or why they think it works for video.

Great job

Thats the best kite video I've seen in a long time. I wish I could fly with you guys.

You and me both.  I learned more in the two years I spent in their company than in the two years since.   Embarrassed  There are loads of TPs every year in the Netherlands.  In theory, you CAN fly with them if you can make it over there.  And I can say without reservation, if you have the means...it would be more than worth the trip.

That being said, I have to also point out that there may be no better place to fly in the world than on a Dutch beach.  And, even inland flying in the Netherlands is superior.  Flat is flat, and the Netherlands is FLAT.  Furthermore, if you go all the way to the islands in the North, you can find beaches which would seem created especially for us by Mama Nature.  Imagine sand and sea in three directions!!  The only thing that might be better is a sand bar in the middle of Pacific island chain.

Lucky for me, I had the priviledge of watching Carlo go from being 'good' (saw his first wap-do-waps on his Gemini) to being one of the best around.  The crazy thing is he is still getting better it would seem!

Bram, on the other hand, has always been smoooooooth and easy as long as I have known him.  Beautifully gentle yo-tricks and JLs are his speciality.  Watching him fly always reminds me what the real goal should be:  Tricks when done well are beautiful to pilots and non-pilots alike.  He drives this point home everytime he flies.
