One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Anyone in the DC area?? I'm going to be around that area from the 22nd till the 25th doing a little thing for Nascar at the Walter Reed military hospital. I'll probably have a few evenings off and would love to fly.

most of the locals will be headed over to Ocean City (several hours from DC towards the coast on route 50) during your travel times for Sunfest.

The Washington Monuments are a nice place to fly,... no STAKES in the ground and you've gotta' land your kite if the presidential helicopters are coming in also!

There's a huge tree sticking up out of the ground on the west side of the Washington monument, that's where our club holds court the first Sunday of each month.  The security folks will allow you to fly but please don't chase the spectators along the walkways or land you kite on top of the flag-poles. <LOL!>

Just a question on the DC area. Are the winds decent at the monument, ive thought about coming down quite often, but thought the winds may be variable like PA.

yes!
the wind can be fickle, but the crowds are always great at the Washington Monument.  Parking is a tough time and there are the usual security issues, like maybe "open your bag and we will inspect it now!"

Let me know when you're interested and I'll meet you there, maybe with some more of the WOW gang in tow.
