Will Sturdy--winner of the AKAGN 2008 sport kite kitebuilding competition and masters class flyer--has donated his newest creation, the Saber II, in support of the Treasure Island Sport Kite Championships. Some will know Will from his dazzling performances in Virtual Freestyle. Raffle tickets cost $10, and the raffle ends on November 30, or when all tickets are sold. Tickets can be ordered and purchased online. More information about the kite and the raffle can be found here: http://www.easternleague.net/TISKC/saberII.htmlMany thanks to Sturdy Designs for donating the kite. All money raised will go to expenses for the competition. So, if you purchase a ticket, you will be supporting a good cause while gaining a chance to win one high performance kite.

It looks like the Saber II raffle will be closing soon. Only 18 tickets left. If you were thinking about entering, you might want to do so before the opportunity is gone. I wouldn't be surprised to see us sold out by Sunday, if not sooner.
We did experience some problems in the middle of the week with accepting credit card payments, but that glitch has been fixed.
Many thanks to those who have already entered for your support of TISKC.

Thanks Will--it seems that after getting our Credit Card issues resolved, we changed the link. All is now well if you try the link in the initial post (which I've edited) or in Will's reply.

The raffle sold out!
I'm awaiting a couple checks, and then the drawing will be held.
I'll post the winner here as well as on the Eastern League website.

I think Robbie is prolly waiting to collect all the payments (checks etc). Which prolly takes a little longer than you might imagine ... Look at it this way ... as of now you're still optimistic ... and not disappointed -Frazer

I'm still waiting on a few checks to arrive via snail mail. My plans are to see what arrives this afternoon when I return home from work, and then draw the winner. The Machine raffle drawing will probably occur this weekend. I'm also finalizing plans for one more raffle . . . but I can't let that cat out of the bag yet.

The winner of the Saber II raffle is Nigel Bence from Bristol, England. As I recall, the last time a Sturdy Designs kite was raffled it went to France . . . there must be some big magnet drawing Will's productions across the pond. The drawing of the Machine will occur this weekend.

Congratulations! I've heard good things about the Saber! (I never win anything either. That's why I don't play the lottery. It's just like throwing money away.)

Congrats Nigel! Kite karma is good stuff....
in case you are not on that f.a. forum you might not be aware of how many times that Nigel has "sold a kite" and his requested payment is a donation to a local/favorite non profit group! a veritable gentleman that i am glad to hold as a friend!
good winds! r
