One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

10/28 would be Friday.  We fly every Friday - rain or shine. Smiley  Time is the same, 6:00 (ish) pm to around 11:00 (ish) pm.

"A day off from work is a good day to Fly!"

We haven't worked out the details yet, but i'd hope to be there before 5pm.
Others seem to usually show up not much later...

I'll see about getting out there. That is my B-day so I get 1/2 the day off and have an odd 1/2 day under vacation time. So I might just put them together and head out Friday morning.

One thing I like about Vegas... cheap hotel rates. But this time I'll know what my GPS means when it tells me my route is going into a restricted zone. Man... I hate the strip.

It's guarenteed perfect wind, right?

Hi Todd,

Look forward to meeting you. Missed meeting you at a kite fair in St. George last year. Then we had no wind. At or Friday fly we usally do have wind.

I see the picture of your WK240. Hope to build one someday when Barry starts this project. Any change you will bring it with you?

Well, I took the day off (10/28) so I just need to book a room. I'll do that in the next week or so. I'll pack the car up the night before and head out in the mid-morning. Hope to be out flying around 3pm or so.

Will pack up the SLK's as well.

I'm looking forward to it.

Always up in the air but it looks like there might be three is us from Utah there. Two people were going to be there that weekend so they might go down a day early. Never know until it happens. I'm looking forward to it.

Edit: Steve and I will be heading down. I'm not sure about Scott and his wife. I'll check with them.

Well, Steve and I had a blast... as we expected. The "Vegas Locals" are really a bunch of great people! The wind was a little low but it picked up enough for some flying. The lights came on around 7:30pm so everything was good. We stayed out until around 11:30pm flying and had a great time.

A write up and some photos:

not the greatest kite flying night ever and less than half our usual total number of people, but i'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. some more wind would have been good, but what can you do? ... steve's 61/49 is a sweet kite and i'm thankful for the opportunity to fly it.

some days more than others but it's always fun at the park.

Wasn't there something in your write-up about Stephen's spot on impression of me?

No one whines quite like I do, so I'm dying to hear it.

Inquiring minds want to know.  Smiley

I took that out as I thought you'd think he was making fun of you (he wasn't). He actually did a few impressions that made me laugh. A lot from Family Guy.  Cheesy

it was more my impression of the guy on princess bride that says "Never get involved in a land war in Asia," but only slightly less well known is this: "Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
