One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

The 31ST Annual Time Warner Cable Frank Mots International Kite Festival

...will be held on Saturday, September 12th,& Sunday September 13th, 2009, in Veterans Park on Milwaukee's Lakefront from 10:00 am until 5:00Pm Saturday and 10:00 am until 5:00pm on Sunday.

County Executive Scott Walker will kick off the festival at 12 noon with the Caribou Coffee grand launch of hopefully 500 kites. That's right...two great days of flying. The event is sponsored by the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois, and Gift of Wings, and our newest sponsors, Time Warner Cable, 102.1 WLUM, B93, and 1290am WMCS.

Featured performers include Chicago Fire, feraturing Eric Wolfe, the new Revolution Kite Flying Team...iQUAD, featuring John Barresi. Mots also will feature Josh and Zack Gordon, Charlie Sotich, Team Pegasus, Dan Newman, Paul Koepke, Paula Schenk, Mike Delfar, Ann Brinnehl, & Donna Schenk as Mrs Kite Lady, and the kites of Yves LaForest. Yves Laforest will feature 2 GIANT Octopi kites flying high over Milwaukee.

The Caribou Coffee Grand Launch of around 500 kites will take place directly at noon. The professional kite teams will start performing at 12:30 pm followed by the Radio Disney Kids Mad Dash at around 2:00. See Roscoe from the Milwaukee Admirals, and Bango from the Bucks. Kites are available for sale from Gift of Wings located in Veterans Park, online and in Franklin, WI. Johnsonville Brats, Palermos Pizza, and Eisenberg Hotdogs, along with plenty of other great food items will also be sold at Mots. Breakfast will be served to all KSWI members and a free dinner for all KSWI members will be held at 5:30pm on Saturday night in the park, along with one of the best kite raffle/auctions in the country. Donít miss it! The Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois, it doesnít get any better than this!
