One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hey there kite builders,

I have a diy project where I need material similiar to what my startup stunt kite has.  It has some sort of rod made out of either carbon, fiberglass, or graphite (I'm a beginner stunt kite flyer and enjoy it a lot).

My project calls for a solid rod probably 1/4" thick which has the property of bending but when it's not in the bending position, it goes back to straight with no problems (and stays straight).

I'll be using a rod about 3-4 feet long but when in the bent position, it'll be about 2-3 feet from end to end (if you can picture how modern tents are set up with the rod that bends for structure).

What type of material has the best strength and bendability which can go straight after using it over and over again.  Also, what online retailer is the best place to purchase this rod?

Thanks for listening,
Steve Hall

Solid fiberglass.
Cost would be $2.50 for a 4 foot length.  Shipping to NY $5.00.
Drop me an email and we can work out the details.

Solid carbon (or any tube) won't work as it won't give you enough bend at that diameter.
