One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

Anyone see "Top Gear" tonight on BBC America ?

They had a race to the North Pole from Resolute, Canada. The Clarkeson team in a 4x4.
The Hammond team with dogs. The Hammond team used a power kite part of the way
to reduce the weight of the sledge.

Sorry if this has already been posted - the episode was prolly a repeat.

yeah, i saw it. i love me some top gear. very good episode i'd say, made even better by the inclusion of a kite.

good to know should i wish to power kite to the north pole it's doable. the wide open ice plains would be a fun, the frost bite, not so much. Tongue

Oh cool I will have to see if I have that one recorded.  I missed Top Gear when I moved here and only recently got BBC America, so now I record them all and watch when I can.

yeah, i saw it. i love me some top gear.

Last week they sent a rocket powered Mini Cooper down a ski jump sans driver.... the pyrotechnics was something to behold.  The followed this up with Stig taking a full sized snowmobile under power down the same jump.

Love the show, but sometimes it strikes me that they get paid to do stuff that would have gotten you arrested in college (driving a Rolls Royce into a community pool during its open ceremonies?) , above and beyond some of the cares they get to drive.  And yes, there's probably a branch or two of sour grapes there.  Huh

Have you guys had the one where they try and make a Space Shuttle from a Relient Robin 3 wheeler?  That one's a must see!

They actually managed to launch the thing!
