One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

A friend and I were having this discussion and thought I'd pose the question here.  I know which is the correct spelling but just wondering if you have a preference.

I prefer kite flyer. I've used kite.flyer or kiteflyr in various forms for the past 16 years.

I obviously prefer kiteflyer since I have to coorect it 9 times out of 10.

IE Spell flags both as wrong though but it will recognize kiteflier as being an attempt at kite flier. It doesn't have any idea what kiteflyer is giving me a couple dozen corrections options, most of them being words I've never heard, but my favorites are flayer, gadfly, stiffy & deflower, the last couple making me wonder if I was in the wrong forum.

M$ spellcheckers flag both as incorrect also insisting on it spelled as two words or hyphenated, then it'll accept either.

But hey we're all friends and this is a forum, it's barely above IM's and texting in protocol, if uoy gte teh msseage arcsos is't all good.

Grin Stiffy and Deflower, Mike? Careful... those are the kind of websites that lead to viruses and maliciousness. I like kiteflyer, but either will do.

It's two words mashed together. As such, I go to the root.

I've never liked the looks of flier, even though I think it's correct in a lot of the usage around here. Flyer is better.

Yeah, we all know that, but it doesn't make it right.   Smiley

In France, we say "cerf-voliste" or "kiter" !  Wink
