Where to stay ?

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I was planning on attending the Wildwood festival (not on the AKA calendar ?!?) this year, and the Newport festival. Any suggestions of a good place to stay at either venue ? I would like to be as close as possible, hopefully walking distance at Wildwood. I do have 2 young kids (1 & 2 1/2), so I'm looking for a family friendly place, don't need a gel bed or heart shaped sauna. 
I figure I need to start thinking about reservations now, at least for Wildwood.
And I also noticed that the Niagara festival fell off the calendar, it was there for 2010, but looks to have dropped off. Too bad, it looks like a great time.

@ newport there is no way to walk less than 30 minutes to get to the fields......so...pick a hotel in town and there ya have it.....i do not know if there is any sort of host hotel......
a bunch of people like the Ocean View Inn in Middletown.....nice place...lots of fliers stay there but not in town though...

No, I knew that about Newport. It would be nice to have a place within walking distance, I suppose... Is the Oceanview a good place to stay with kids, or do you think it gets too rowdy at night with all those crazy kite people staying there ?

How is the parking during the festival ? I drove by on a random weekend last june, and it looked pretty packed there.

I figured that Wildwood's gotta have places to stay right near the flying fields, though.

The Oceanic Hotel was the event hotel after the demise of the Rio.

There is a Day's Inn right near the Oceanic. It would probably be quieter.

Either of those are very close to the beach and Convention Center.
