Hey Gang,
This is just to let everyone know how the Kite Party works. The main sport kite field is for EXPERIENCED flyers only. The maximum line length is 75' (77.5' for Jeepster

) for non demo (general) flying. You
MUST be able to fly your kite with total control. That's not to say you have to be a professional, but you must be able to fly in tight quarters. Also, you need to share the field, it's not that big, and despite a crappy economy, you people keep showing up! Yes, there WILL be a decent sized second sport kite field this year (for the first time) on the south side. This area will be used for lessons, and for extra flying space (true beginners will still need to fly outside the roped off area). There are 8 miles of beach to fly on, so beginners can learn a TON by watching (and getting a lesson if needed!), then finding a nice stretch of beach to fly (crash!) on. Also, there is no smoking, alcohol, or pets on the beach, pier, parking lots, or service road.
IT IS UP TO YOU FOLKS TO SELF POLICE. Historically, the Saturday night dinner at Lampost Pizza has included an auction and usually there are a bunch of very cool kites, mostly donated by the generous attendees of the Kite Party. I have the entire restaraunt reserved.
I also want to give a big thank you to Steve Hall, the dude that hosts this forum, for allowing so much Kite Party banter to take place on HIS forum (because nobody goes to mine any more). So ya know, if you have any other questions, please call HIM on his cell phone, the number is 530-966-1...just kidding. Please call me on MY cell phone, 714-642-4996. If you're wondering why MY Kite Party information and registration is on HIS forum, well....keep wondering, it's a long story. The short answer...if you were around for the FIRST KP, you'd know the answer!
