One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I never really understood blue in kites. It's like camouflage against the sky.

Personally, I prefer contrast so 1 or 2 for me.

Thanks everyone for the input, I do like the Blue, but I also agree with John C. about the contrast against the sky, so I'm leaning more towards the Yellows.
I already have some in greens so I'm hoping that the Neon Yellow doesn't have to much of a Green Tint, if the Yellow is like the yellow on my Widow Maker I might be leaning towards that.

When I go to a Std. I will be going Darker in the center like this.

Std Colors

2, then 1 but substitute Black for Charcoal.

No to 3, Blue is too 'heavy' for a UL.

Cheers

King,
the 2nd to last one you just posted is great. I really like that one.
Otherwise, like the rest of them, 321. =]

I'd go with 321 on your original choices.

I too was once of the opinion that blue wouldn't contrast well until I built a nearly all blue kite because it had to be. I was wrong, blue stands out in the sky wonderfully and your eye is drawn right to it. Blue is also my choice for UL's, nothing heavy about it when used with white and/or silver. Sky Blue, White & Silver make a feathery design IMO.

What is your reasoning for going with only one color with two neutrals?

Be sure to revisit the colorizer tomorrow, what you think looks great today you often go WWIO tomorrow, I have.

Don't know if you recal but you saw the Flo Yellow on my Exile when I showed you the patch. The Icarex Flo Yellow is not too green like the some are, a much truer yellow where I see the Yellow having a bit of Orange tint being quite dark.

Sad  I hate to say this because I don't think the color scheme is a good reason for choosing or not choosing a kite but . . .  The reason I have not purchased a BMK kite yet is that I can't come up with a color scheme I like.   Sad  My apologies to all BMK owners but of all the pictures I seen Ive I've never seen one I liked.

I really believe they are great kites and I really want one.   Embarrassed  I've even asked my wife to come up with a color scheme for me and just buy it as a Xmas/birthday gift for me, and assured her I'd be happy with whatever color it was.  Which unfortunately is to say I'd be just as unhappy with the color scheme no matter what is was.

I do agree with mikenchico about blue though.  If I could find a color scheme I liked it would have some sort of shade of blue in it. Sigh!  I really wish I could find one I like.

*Gus - you just call up Ken and give him a couple options like "Some blue", bright, dark, colorful, earthy, whatever. Ken is an artist with a good sense of what works & what doesn't. He'll come up with a few options and run them by you.

I think they have beautiful lines as they are - you could go with an all black standard and and all white UL.
