Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hummm?
I still have this little  "Wind Toys" Cheeta from the early daze-days (mid 80's?)...that taught sooooooooo many family members, friends and co-workers at Boeing.... how to fly sport kites.
Perhaps I should put it up on E-Bay Undecided Undecided....(It still looks great for such horrific treatment it had to endure?  Undecided
(This little kite was made especially for Kathy Goodwind as a demo kite by Darlene and Fred Fredricks of Sunny So. Calif.) and later sold to me as a used kite for training newbee's how to fly kite.

After seeing that price for the Porche'....what price should this little $25.00 demo kite that I bought waaaaay back when...should go for on E BAY Huh
Does $399.99 seem to steep?

It is a collector item, you know??? Lips sealed Kiss

They did but you'll need more than Google Fu to see it. You'll need to unleash the mighty power of the Wayback Machine to even find it and even they don't seem to have thought the images worth keeping.

It looks like it was the same company  Wink

just goes to show what I've always thought....the  price of anything is a direct correlation to what the purchaser is willing to spend, regardless of it's true value or worth.

well i can tell you its nowhere near worth 1200 bucks.. espically with the old style yo yo handles.. havent seen a full dual line setup like that in years.. and most of the ones i did see were beginner packages.. no beginner kites should be $1200 thats for sure.. take the porsche logo off of it and then what  do you have??

I think it was about 1996/7 that I had to travel to Germany & my friend asked me to collect some parts for his 911 it was from the main dealer in Stuttgart,i remember they had in the showroom a theme with ,Skateboard, mountain bike, surf board etc, they also had a 2 liner & as I remember a Flexifoil not sure of the size but noticed it was about 5 times the price when i made a remark to that effect the response  It`s made solely for us. After collecting the parts on the way out I had a close look.It wasn`t FLEXIFOIL it had been made by the company in Holland that had infringement problems with Peter Lynn All the gear they had on show if I remember  was between 3/5times more than the pukka article

I thought about emailing the seller to see if he had checked on the current market conditions and pricing and then thought that it would just come off as being rude. He's obviously not a kite flyer and is completely out of touch with the kite world. He might know cars but not kites. There's an expression about a silk purse and a sow's ear that comes to mind. Caveat Emptor.

. . .

The only person that might conceivably fall for this ploy is someone who saw episode 5 in series 6 of Friends and didn't see what the fuss was all about.*

. . .

Mike.
* You either know already, can find out easily or don't care. All work for me.

I care enough to check it out on Google and IMDB (and I'm sure I've watched it once or twice over the years), but I still can't see what the fuss was all about. The One with Joey's Porsche (1999) at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0583530/plotsummary?

It does involve a Porche, and Porche-logo stuff.

OK, I get it: this is about the value of Porche-logo stuff. I was trying to find out why it was a crucial Friends episode. . . (Time for some coffee, Norm!)
