Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hey KP dudes and dudettes,

At present, it looks like I'll be "day tripping" it, driving down for one of the two complete days of fun in the sun. So, as a newbie, I'm wondering, first, which day is better, assuming anyone has a preference? also, what time do y'all get up and out, so I can already be there, hogging up the best spots. Finally, assuming I drive in from slightly up north, where's the best place to park, if I get there say around 8 am?  See ya all there.

If I had to do just one day it would be Friday. Enough kite people to make it a Party, but fewer civilians. No boundaries. But Saturday is the big day, the most kites in the air and such. And the pizza/auction should not be missed.

Early morning light wind flying for sure.

Parking on site, espescially if you get there first thing, is worth the expense. I tend to have a car full of kites and it's nice to have that mobile kite bag a few steps from the sand.

Just came across something that might be fun for those who are spending extra time before or after KP.  The Queen Mary is offering much reduced rates for their "Bed and Breakfast".  A chance to spend time on some real history.

You may want to check it out.  http://www.queenmary.com/

WooHoo!!!

It will be good to see you guys!

Dave and I work on the same campus, maybe 1/4 mile apart, and for several years the only time we've seen each other is at Kite Party.

Maybe he's avoiding me the rest of the year...

Ya see, Steve is one of the most generous people I know. Not only does he allow me to use his forum for the Kite Party, the dude offers to have a sale during my event to help me raise money. Times ARE tough however, so I think I'll ask that he only donates 85% of the total sales instead of the customary 90% that he insists I take...

no matter what the weather decides to give us, a day or two with friends and new friends out does any weather issues, if we get to fly then it is all the better.

Really looking forward to seeing you all there.
