One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

 Smiley Hallo Drachenfreunde,

Babel Fish translation (Il Duce)

Hello of kite friends, I speak and write unfortunately only German, it hopes however that we will understand ourselves also in such a way. It makes me happy that the Wolsing art gallery was taken up so positively. It contains however more considerable kites than only that of 12. That is an absolute experimentation and attempt kite, for normal flies much too largely. Nevertheless the building was a challenge for me, therefore I had also developed and had built it. The other kites, no matter how large, are however all suitable for normal employment. Over it I wrote also books. With this Posts I want to test whether we can inform ourselves also on German. Friendly greetings to all interested kite friends and well Günter alias Retnüg

Welcome to the Gone with the Wind Forum Gunter, electronic translaters always leave us guessing, but we can usually understand enough to hold a conversation. I don't know how well they work from English to German.

Great kites, your design and workmanship is inspiring, well done.

Hopefully that doesn't mean something else in Germany  Wink

Hallo mikenchico, Bord Moderator,:)

Smiley

Gruß und na denn

Günter proposes to give you his books he wrote about his large kites at no costs. So, the only thing you would have to do is to look for somebody who can read german, would like to talk a bit about these books here in the forum and be prepared to answer your questions.

For that he is asking for an adress to send the books to.

what a great link John..  you know me I love color..  this was some fascinating work he is doing..  they remind me of the Voodoo with all the patchwork..  man what a lot of time and hard work he has put into these beauties!  I love the pale pink patchwork one in the stack!

And yes John I am sure you will be just as active when you are 80..  you still have 40 years to go don't you? Smiley

Hi,
first: Sorry for my bad English  Wink
It`s an special feeling to fly such a Kite like the Steiki 3.5.
It is my first Wolsing Kite.
It`s Amazing that a so Big Kite fly very fine whitout strong pull.
The Germans say "Schönflieger" (beautifullflyer).
I hope you understand what i will say.
The Steiki makes very nice Side-Slides and fly at 0,5bft.
