One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

in this video at the 33 second mark is a round kite with a woman's face on it, but there's some perspective shift in the background of the portrait; from the video i'm uncertain of the true shape of the kite.

does anyone have more information about this? if it's three dimensional, it looks very interesting.

c) fittings for that kite were designed by Andre Cassigne of France
d) it is called Harvest Moon
e) supposedly weighs about 3 pounds all total

hey thanks a bunch for the information; i'm fascinated by these hand built works of art. the kite you're flying is pretty sweet as well. i'm sure it makes an impression on someone every time it goes up.

as for the crown, it would seem to me a very cool idea to design one so you have some shadows cast from the back of the kite which interacts with the front panel in a dynamic yet planned way so the shadows animate the graphic. hmm ...

We cut one of Andre's down  during a Rok battle at WSIKF a few years ago when it wandered too close. Argued we should've got double points for that, the judges didn't agree  . Thankfully no damage was incured .. whew!
