thief - you present something interesting to the problem , a weight mechanism at the bottom of the kite ( 6 o'clock ) position might
keep the kite upright - just bums me out when a great kite does not fly well or correctly.

many thanks

I acutally don't mind the weight on the Bowkite.  I think it could have been better executed.  Currently it is a nylon pouch with a velcro flap. Inside the pouch is a sealed plastic bag with steel ball bearings.  It's an all or nothing proposition with no adjustability.  A short trip to the pharmacy has secured the bits to remedy that.

A couple of things here - THIEF - do you have a NAUTILUS that indeed flies - if so I would like to chat with you about it , ASAP - I think the weight idea is solid

Indigo Wolf - The BOW kite has a new design revision - i dont know about upgrades , have Steve contact HQ for you , but there is a new BOW kite -

Really I am up for any ideas - right now as I mentioned the kite is broken , I am putting some 4.0mm rods and ferrules together .

The kite really can fly. It's just very particular about the wind.
Too high and it flops around and turns on its side. Too light and it won't get off the ground.
The wind needs to be smooth to work, best at the beach.

The angle of flight is pretty low and I think I anchored it once in the handfull of times I have flown it.

It is not always a good flyer but when it does it is an eye-catcher.

I have used a pilot kite but I did not have it set up right. I need to try this again some day as I think this method has potential.
I have not tried weights but I think that could work.

Might have to dig this one out of the closet for another try.

Gary
