One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I have a BOT that won't trick. Can't get it to lay on its back. Flick flacks are hard to do. Axle is difficult. I added weights an still nothing. Bridle measurmenst are correct.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

What other kites do you fly? The BoT comes from a different era and requires a noticeably different flying style to 'modern' polyvalent style kites.

They don't lay on their backs and wait, for any sort of lazy susan you need to put it on its back sharply and pop immediately. In fact to lazy kites this old its usually a smooth gentle pull not a pop. Find Peter Peter's trick list and look for Sleazy Lous and variations on snap lazies. A BoT certainly won't Lazy anything like a post-Nirvana kite.

Flic Flacs are one of the BoT's favourite tricks but again the technique is different - I assume you're doing the fade-pancake variety?

Give your axels time and lots of slack. The BoT does nice axels and multiple axels but for multis the techniques are different

Weights are only going to mess things up this is not a kite you want to start adding weight to. Also avoid overpowering it; BoTs take a pretty gentle touch, no need to be as aggressive as you might with newer kites oh and again use lots of slack.

Thanks for the quick reply. I fly Exile, Talon, Muse, MSE, plus other more modern kites.

In that case you will want as much slack as you give your Muse, with inputs smaller than you give the Talon.

A bit of an exaggeration but when things really flow with a BoT you seem to spend much of the time with the lines pretty slack just flicking the kite between tricks. Pops often tend to be gentle coaxing taps, or small but fast and snappy.

It will be happiest in lower winds, if its pulling you're flying it in too much wind, BoTs never need more than 80lb line. 50~60 ft is about right.

Re flic-flacs ISTR on the later PC31/active bridle one I had you needed to catch the kite early as it flared. My earlier K42 one was much more forgiving.

Indeed, the later ones had about 8" of bungee in the middle so it could deflect out of the way (if you threw it into a turtle hard and pulled immediately before it had chance to sit back up)

Its still not a kite to do Lazy Susans though.
