One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

This is a nice family event held in St George, UT every year. It's a family kite festival where kids earn points for reading books over the winter and then cash them in for kites at the event. Many sponsors and it's a really big event. Large flying area for the kids with a separate field for more advanced fliers.

Entrance to the festival is free.

Easy parking as they run free shuttle buses from extended parking areas to the event.

Many vendors and bands play all day until the evening. Fireworks display at night.

I'll be there! I sent an email to John C about a month ago and he sent it out to some people. I also just sent an email to Kent. He was there last year.

I posted some photos from last year, here:

The flying area for multi line/advanced fliers is smaller then the field for kids but on the other hand, you don't need to worry about small children crossing lines. I like the event as it's very down to earth. It's free, with bands playing all day and a fireworks display in the evening. Many vendors as well. AJ with Breakin Wind (and family) and I will be there from the UKF. I wanted to get together with the LV fliers and "shoot the breeze".

Chuck, Gary, AJ and I will be there from the Utah Kite Fliers (AJ will be running the kite vendor tent). I've heard from several people (including John C) from the Las Vegas area that will be attending. I'm really looking forward to this event as I think it's a great thing that we can all get together and "shoot the breeze". Weather looks pretty good... a warm/cool 72 degrees with only a few clouds (cool but warm in the sun). The temps dip that day so I'm hopeful that this will mean some wind. Looks like wind out of the west which means nothing to block it's path but it's running to long way down the flying field.
