One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I just recieved a John Barresi Mid-vent and was concerned that I did not get all the parts for it. On the rev site, It states that it should come with 2 frame sets. the 3 wrap and the 4 wrap. I only recieved spars that were stickered Ultra Light which I would assume are the 3 wrap. Does the mid vent only come with 1 frame set or am I missing parts? Thanks in advance.

from some kite site that sells them:
Quote
NOTE: The Standard is framed with a 3 wrap and includes an extra 2 wrap frame. The Full Vent is framed in 4 wrap and includes an extra 3 wrap frame. The Mid Vent is framed in a 3 wrap, no extra frame is included. I can customize ALL of these models with the frame combination of your choice and no extra charge (Excluding the RACE FRAME, which is $45.00 more).

Yeah that was a big issue with me when I got mine for the same price as a Reg B-series package as to why only 1 frame.  I don't even wan't to repeat the answer I got lol but thats the way it goes.

BTW you're gonna love it get a set of race rods and you wont even need a standard B for light wind midvent is my new SUL  Wink

I was looking at a set of the race rods when I get some extra spending money. I set up today and and had gusty winds from 7 to 15 and started looking for the extra rods that weren't there.

This is my first Rev and today, I had more wind then skill.

Thanks for the responses and I'm off to lurk the forum some more.

agreed on the Race Rods, they're what I fly just about all the time
only when the winds are in the mid teens do I fly either the 3 or 4 wraps, I ended up giving my 2 wraps away
I am curious what Rev's explanation was for supplying 2 sets of spars for the Standard & Vented, but not for the Mid-vent while charging the same price

Honestly, it's gotten to the point that I don't use anything but race rods now with the sole exception being higher winds on a full vent.

I'm lazy, I don't like changing rods, what can I say?   Cheesy

I've bought them all up already and I'm preparing to scalp them to the highest bidder.
