Focus Kite Designs has updated the Skate for 2010! The sail graphics have been changed to allow for a ton of new color combinations, and the frame has been ferruled to allow it to collapse down to about half it's former size. The frame change is great news because it will bring the shipping length of the kite down to allow the Skate to ship to more countries outside the US. It also means that the kite becomes much more portable, because the folded length is now no longer than the Skate's spreader. I've already ordered mine, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm already dreaming up all the places I'm going to take it to fly. http://focuskites.blogspot.com/2010/03/skate-gets-update.html

Yup, what thief said, if you email the guys off their website, they can send you the colorizer to play with before it's posted online. They're already accepting orders for custom Skates, here's the one I built:

Mine's due to be shipped in a week! Can't Wait. I've been flying the Ninja "Bad" since November. The Skate's gotta be the ultimate in no-wind flying.

We'll all have to start a "SKATE PICS" thread when our new kites arrive

Speaking of Skates, I discovered something new today. I found out that if you put the Skate spreader on the front of the kite instead of the back, it seems to glide a whole lot better, kinda like the Aerobe. I was truly amazed on the difference it made. I fly my Skate only outdoors and with a quarter and a nickel in the nose at all times.
