That BBC ident spot ran for a year or two in heavy rotation... glad to hear they are still running it. I had originally seen it when it played between shows on BBC America a couple of years ago. Seem to recall that some of the fliers are well known in the UK. Filming was done in North Wales... Ynyslas (Borth) with the help of some of the folks from Turbulence Extreme Sports. The kites are Flexifoil Sting (II) prototypes that were done up in solid red before color schemes were finalized. I would actually love to have one in solid red.
I absolutely love that spot. I expect at least subliminally it was one of the reasons that the Sting was my first quad foil.
Note to self: If your noggin wasn't so full of useless trivia
there would be room for lots more useful stuff.
