One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

seems the storm has passed. lots of flooded cellars in RI and surrounding areas.  I saw some of the stuff they usually show on the news, nice homes flooded 1/2 way up the 1st floor and  some waterfront property that has had it waterfront line relocated....... an enterprising soul with a truckload of sump pumps could have really cleaned up.  local Home Depot guy said they sold 5 pallets of pumps and all the backroom stock in a morning....rumored that there was a tour bus in the water up to the windows.  entire sections of towns closed  or without power but the liquor stores were all lit up..possibly some of the patrons as well....

Sorry to hear that Zeke, that is a really bad situation. I heard on TV that it was due to all the snowfall, but it looked like a lot of El Nino rain to me.

Probably most don't have federal flood insurance either,, Cry

Lot of flooding in MA too.  Boss has been working offsite the past two days manning the pumps at home. We did OK, but a couple of flood roads on the way home Monday night and a detour and delay on the way to work today due to streets being closed and trucks deployed drain the water.

A few sunny days ahead before rain returns on Monday.

Hey Zeke, how are the fields at CSP and/or Brenton Point?  Have you passed either of them in your daily travels?  Was thinking about taking a run down there this weekend if they have sufficiently dried out.

Gribble.... drying cats kites with cats around is always... interesting.  Has to wash and dry the Bullet 4.5 in the Fall, and all of it sudden it became the most interesting room for every furry critter in the house.

however if you have washed the kite and hung it up to dry, then go wash a couple of the cats, guaranteed they will leave the kite alone.....

If I ever decide that I am bored enough and need a thrill that can only be assuaged by washing the cat, I will post an announcement here.

That way people can rush out and immediately buy stock in Johnson & Johnson, the makers of Neosporin and Aleve.   I expect the stock windfall would mean a rash of kite purchases.  Huh

While I'm sure we all appreciate you looking out for us, I'm just not sure I would feel comfortable taking joy in your suffering. Roll Eyes

I am sure a sweet kite would help soothe the discomfort though! Grin Grin

First couple of times you wash cats, They're shocked, which makes them fairly compliant, and you generally get off mostly unscathed.

After that, they catch on and then they're just pissed..  Cheesy
