One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I used to work in a kite store and we always had returns and/or repairs after a storm. Wind speeds are over 50 knots, and gusts up to who knows how high at the moment. I wonder how many people will try to fly today...

I've been out in storm weather, flying a micron on long lines. I guy shows up with his kids to fly his "wally world" kite, warned him that he should have heavier line as i was walking back to the van. He scoffed,(did i mention that he was someone i knew from school that i never saw eye to eye with) I got a good laugh watching him chase the kite around the field after the line snapped.
Then there was the  time i was out with a jet stream speed in big wind and packed up to leave only to see a joker with a parachute/parasail trying to 'catch some air'. I told him if he wasnt careful he would  be in the 5 lane highway in the blink of an eye. He blew me off.  As i drove off he was trying to pull it out of a small tree. Probably lucky for him.

I was sooooooo tempted to go out today with my 3 meter. Since the winds have been getting in the 45+ range though I blew that off rather quickly! I doubt even my Beamer could up to that let alone me!!! Cheesy Cheesy Grin
