One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hi, I don't know about the areas right around Duke, but the Lake Crabtree County Park adjacent to RDU airport has as good a flying field as can be found around here.

Here is a link to the park which is located across I-40 from RDU:
http://www.wakegov.com/parks/lakecrabtree/default.htm

It is a popular spot for local flyers, during the week is hit or miss to find another flyer there unless a meet is set up. There are several flyers in the area on this forum, why not post some available times maybe someone could meet up with you.

Welcome to NC!

Yeah, Lake Crabtree Park is the top choice.  Are you going to be in NC during the week, or over the weekend?  We can probably get a small group together with a little advance planning.
