Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

They are really good at spin tricks, but suck at pitch based moves. Perhaps with some tail weight.....

Surface can also be used to prepare vegetables while catching up on stock quotes.

You need one little brother.  Smiley

Gah!  Beaten to the punch - it's also great at chopping your fresh, home made salsa.  Smiley

Interestingly, Charlie Rose did an hour on it last night.  And ended with what amounted to a commercial for the thing - I'm not anti-Apple or particularly pro-Apple, but it was kinda skeezy to hear a journalist/interviewer basically end an hour long interview by gushing about how wonderful and life-changing (slash-affirming?) the tablet was.  Left a pretty poor taste in one's mouth

I bet Fraz is lurking.

Some gushing on the 'Pad might bring him out...

My daughter bought one Saturday and we used it all day. Very nice. I think Steve Jobs has done it again. The real beauty of this thing begins when you actually have one in your hands and start using it. I was way more impressed with it than I though I would be. And No --- I am not a Mac disciple.

I think it would do backspins pretty well, but she wouldn't let me try.

Since I have an iPhone and a laptop I need for work I haven't seen any need for one... Roll Eyes

From what I've heard it's basically a large screen iPhone, even uses the same OS...

My dad and brother both had them (32gb and 64gb respectively) and brought them on Easter.  I was completely underwhelmed.  It's an overgrown iPod touch as far as I'm concerned.  I'm probably in the minority on this but I just don't see the appeal.

That is the main appeal. If you like using your iPhone or Touch, you'll probably like this thing. It's not about capability and specs, it's a user interface thing.

Well I guess that explains it.  I have an iPod Touch, and it only gets used to play music in the car or at the gym, nothing else.  Aside from my laptops (which rarely get used outside of docking stations), I have no need to be connected away from my desk.  Even my cell phone is rarely used, and then only for voice calls.

Don't get me wrong, I think iPod/Phone/Pad all have a fantastic, intuitive design from a UI perspective, but I just can't get excited about them.
