One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I lost the bag with the 6 stand offs for my Prism Prophecy. Anybody know the lengths and diameter of them so I can build new ones.

If you take off the outer standoff, the Proph will barrel roll (backspin to some) but it's really a barrel roll.

It just sounds like there's a story there.  Roll Eyes

Not worth it. The Proph doesn't fly right without those extra whiskers.

Stock it rolls well enough for JLs so I leave it.

Is this measurement with or without the fittings?

Here are the sizes of the stand offs of one of my Prophecy, I took the measurements, as showed in the below drawing, from the vinyl end caps to the end of the opened sail fittings
Measurements are in millimeters:
Outer: 213 mm
Middle: 291 mm
Inner: 232 mm
Diameter: 3 mm

Thanks again for all the replys. I have everything to make new ones and I'll write the sizes down just in case I lose them again. Smiley

The Prophecy will backspin even in you leave the standoffs in place.

The standoffs that sit out near the end of the LS are there to force the wingtip to act much like an outrigger. The standoff reduces lift and increases stability.

The several times many of us tried the "barrel roll" with the outer standoff in place, we didn't even get close. Now if you slide the standoff connector in toward the center T, then the sail flattens out and you've got a chance.

I bow, of course, to people who can overcome the inherent stability of the design.

I should have said, "We mere mortals couldn't get a Proph in standard configuration to barrel roll."  Roll Eyes

Granted it has been a few years ago but we had three of these kites in our club. I do not recall having to do anything to any of the three to backspin them. We may have but I don't think we did. You don't have to be an alien or super human to get it to do it, only a good flyer, that has spent hundreds of hours of time learning to fly tricks on all kinds of kites.  Wink

On the Mamba it helped a great deal to move the outer standoffs to get it to backspin, so I'm sure it helps with the Proph.

I've done it, but I think 9 foot long arms would help!
