One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hi all,

I'll be 15 days in San Diego in may/june.

- Where are the best places for flying there ?

- Is there members of the GWTW forum in San Diego ?

- Is there kiteshops, kite festivals ? (TOTL kites were built in San Diego last Century if I remember).

Thanks in advance.  Wink

The San Diego Kite Club meets the second Saturday every month at Tecolote Shores Park, right next to I 5 south of the Hilton Hotel.  Good place to fly.
Another good place is Mariner Point, out past Sea World.

Kite Country is a small kite shop on Sports Arena Blvd behind the now closed Black Angus.

Lynn and I will be at Campland for a Street Rod event that weekend and plan to come fly for a couple of hours or so on Saturday, perhaps 1-3:30.

Sad to say, looks like the Lummi will have to miss this Saturday.  Ben's baseball team have a playoff game on Saturday instead.  Should be fun but sad to miss you all.  Will try to get down there soon.

Have fun.

The club has a few things planned for all day Saturday:
A short memorial service and kite fly event for our brethren no longer with us.  Iíll be flying a favorite kite passed on to me from a friend before he passed on.  Bring a single line and fly it with us in salute to your own lost friends.
RevMan Games creates a club competition to show who has the best precision flying control of their quad line kite.  Bring your favorite four stringer.
Cinco de Mayo Mexican luncheon, sorry, no Tequila. Bring your hunger.
Weatherman predicts winds 7-10mph all afternoon with temps around the mid 60ís.
