Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

So is there something wrong with the 4D or is it just that there are better kites? Are Prism kites lacking in quality in someway?

The 4D is great. I have one and fly it all the time.  Its just a bit specific in intent, not to mention small, to have as your only kite besides your foil.  The 4D is great in little to no wind, really fun on very short lines, flies good indoors, etc.  I just think you'll learn a lot more, progress faster and have more fun with a full size kite like any of those mentioned above.  If you can afford it, get the standard kite of your choice and a 4D for those time the wind is REALLY light.  Just my 2 cents.
