One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Does anyone have the spar specs for the Stranger UL.  Was it a production kite or a frame mod?

Flexifoil still have the specs for the Std.  among their legacy manuals, but the UL is absent.

Edit: OK... a vague reference to SkyShark 5P on KitePower, but not a full spar list.  Sad

Proddy kite. Very spendy version too. Icky sail as opposed to Carrington for the STD.

That's it. SkyShark 5P, long out of production. If you want lengths (although I suspect uncut 32.5" spars for all but the US and whatever works with the spine) you may need to ask elsewhere.

Thanky  Wink

I can always get the lengths by measuring the Std.  It was just to see strange to see the UL listed someplace, as I hadn't heard mention of one before.  Granted, I probably need to get out more.

There was a STD recently on ebay with a starting bid North of $290  Huh  Huh

Now don't go sowing the seeds of doubt now  Roll Eyes

I have an old Flexifoil catalogue at home. I'll take a look next week if I remember.

My recollection is STD = K42 + 6mm and UL = P31 + 5P but I've been wrong before. A 3P Stranger would have been a bit wobbly I'd have thought.

I think Craig's post pretty well ended the need to contact anyone else.

The UL was framed in 5P.

The Std was framed in 6mm Exel.

Rods were full length as I (vaguely) recall.

Oh, and the std sail mat'l was Carrington. Totally different bridle from the std as well.

The UL was much the nicer kite to fly.

It cost a fortune.
