Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

The annual rush and long hours are over at work, and the creative juices have been urging me to do something.

Here is a teaser swatch that I quickly put together to test an idea:

Looks like a transfer or silkscreen...that is printed on the fabric, not applique...right? Roll Eyes

It's actually done with fabric and adheasive transfer tape (the same stuff used for seam tape).  The technique allows for sharp detail and the surface is very smooth.

That's why I thought it was printed! It is very sharp AND flat. Should be awesome! Doing a build thread on it?

It's been moving along great--Then, I wasn't thinking straight and reversed something I shouldn't have.  No harm to the kite, but I just barely had enough left-over fabric to do this color.  Now I have to order and wait it out.

I wasn't planning a build thread, but I'll try to take some detail shots of the kite.

Anxiously waiting for fabric, but here's a big hint.

It's a 72 x 54 inch rokkaku, and here is the skin.

Once it is completed and framed, I'll post some photos.
