Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Wednesday became a bad bust.  The wind was gone all day.  Devin managed to fly for a while with his Ultra Ultra Lite but the rest of us watched.  We had a gang but no air.

This video is dedicated to Fidelio and his ability to fly No Winds in Vegas.  A credit to a good pilot...  The Wednesday Nite Gang tips thier hat....

I would love to be wearing long sleeves today. Heat index of 100, and no wind

OK, I'll do it, since it appears no one else will.

What is this NO WIND crap?  I hate to break it to you, but single line kites rarely fly without wind.  And dual line fliers don't need to move forward EVER if there is no wind.  It's OK to call it UL wind, but not no wind because clearly there is wind.

Buzzzzzzzz.  Try again.   Wink

obi

Just for an example, here is a video that I made two years ago.

SUL weather

At about 1:40 I change kites, and you'll see a wind meter and an explanation of why the video becomes shaky.  That's zero wind.  But not always, as you might be able to notice.  It ain't ever great, but you can see when the wind does move, as when it does the kite jumps alive.  When you have to generate your own wind, the kite falls whenever you slack it (see the slots, or look at how slow that cascade goes).  This is also when the camera needs to move to keep up.  Be gentle, that video was a while ago.

yeah.

winds were prob 1 or 2 most of the time.

The pointer only stayed up for like... 2 mins.

The only thing flying was my PDSUL and a 4D. O_o
