Clouds Are Getting Funky

Over the years, I have taken many photos of clouds. Several of these pictures end up becoming backgrounds for kites taken when the sky was just that darned old blue.

But lately, (today especially) the clouds have really gotten unusual. Not just the "lenticular" pancake clouds, but combinations.

Today there must have been every type of cloud up at the same time. I don't know their names, but they all seemed up there in full force.

I snapped off about 200 pics for future use. But I'm wondering if that global warming thing may be showing up in the pretty water vapor overhead.

Don't know all the effects "Global warming" will bring but we've had a great Spring with lots of clouds too. I wish my digital cam could use a polarized filter and others to get some nice shots, but I elected to give up all that for the convenience of a smaller package with a big zoom rather then carrying a half dozen lenses etc.

As far as Global Warming even those supposedly educated and with the resources to run predictions come out with conflicting forecasts. The US predictions differ 180 degrees from the Canadian predictions for our area. I do know we have had the longest Spring in this area that I can recall in my 52 years living here and the forecast is for continued unsettled weather. Dang it's Memorial Day weekend, my swimming pool is often up and running out of need by now. The high today though was only 68 F and that didn't happen until the sun peaked out late this afternoon. The last three Summers have been unusually mild also, sure we've seen some of our dreaded 105 f days but no long stretches like we had years ago. I recall one heat wave of 3 weeks with temps daily above 110, more then a few 118's to 122 days and the temps never dropping under 100 even at night. If this is the results of global warming I say "Fill'er up and take your unnecessary trips", Nor Cal appreciates your business.

Long term though the forecast look worse, we're a bit short on water, rainfall and snow packs are down and those folks down south have their eyes on what little we do have. I still think it would be cheaper to move the agriculture up here, especially since we have the best soil in the world too, then it'll be to move the water down there. But then what do I know?
