Driving home from work I saw some nice clouds and wind, so I though about getting a better shot of my rok, which for some reason got me thinking about a quick cheap KAP attempt too.
I wanted to keep the rig light, so I settled on two paint stirring sticks, a screw, some bridle line and two mini carabineers. Oh, and some duct tape of course.

And, here is my first stab at KAP:

I would walk down the kite line just below the camera rig, adjust the camera angle, press the shutter button and let the kite pull the camera up as I waited for the 10 second shutter delay.
I thought my wife knew what I was doing when I borrowed her little point and shoot. I had some explaining to do when she wondered out loud how I was in the photo (above) and it dawned on her that the camera must have been up with the kite.
Next time I will have to set the camera for action shots, since several of the shots were blurred by camera motion.
