Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Photo contest - 2010

Eolemag is organizing a photo contest, which will end on August 31. Kiters or others wishing to participate should register by sending us an email. The regulation will be published when there will be participants (minimum ten). Two kites a respective value of 300 € and from major European manufacturers will be won by the two best photographers. One photo will be accepted per participant (height: 650px and compressed).
Registrations (name, surname and postal adress) must be sent before June 30 and photos must be received before August 15. Photos should cover everything related to the kite (one, two, four lines kites, kite-surfing etc.)

So get out your camera, if your heart has spoken you.

Hi,

I hope that some photographers will participate, as in the past. Smiley

It would appear that Jean-Paul Conne is the man behind the contest.

For those of you who are new, JPC is the man who designed the STX series of kites (1.9, 2.1, 2.3, 2.5). The STX 2.3 is one of the kites RonG use to compete with before he built the Machine.

Hello Jean-Paul,

A photo for a chance at a very high end kite.

My registration was sent in some time ago.

I'm hoping many here will enter.  Smiley

My registration is in.

Hopefully there's some sort of provision like "no photoshopping a blimp into your picture for dramatic effect," or none of us stand a chance against you!

The blimp was in the original photo, just a bit higher so it would have been cropped out.  Roll Eyes

On a friendly note, the photo I do enter will only have had
• Color Adjust
• Crop
• Resize to contest requirements

Those are fairly modest "tweaks" which I would be happy to apply to anyone's contest entry who does not have access to a photo editing package unless that violates the spirit of the rules in some way.
