One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Those treehuggers only serve tofuburgers. Better bring a cow with you.

Us "treehuggers" can at least spell "Cheeseburger"...   We just don't allow Californians to visit with their own cattle...   Even though this area is known for it's great seafood we also have several places where "others" can get their beef fix for the day...   Kidd Valley is a local business with a number of locations, and they do a fairly good cheeseburger.  Dicks is a local business that also has several locations.  Their a quick in and out business. 

Besides Gasworks Park another great place to go flying is Magnuson Park which is on the northern end of Lake Washington.  Go to the north end of the park and you will find Kite Hill and if it good wind there you may run into the Kite Hill Mafia...   Their the usual's that hang out there when the wind blows.  And Golden Gardens is always a great place if there is wind blowing.

Gasworks:  Good place when the winds are coming in from the south.  Bring 85' lines at under. 

Magnuson (Kite Hill): Good north wind but bumpy.

Golden Gardens:  Good north wind.  Very short beach but if you're able to get there in low tide (minus 1.5 or more) then you can fly 125' lines,

South Lake Union Park:  They are redoing the park and I think it's closed at the moment.  North winds, bring 85' and under.

Discovery Park:  North or South is good. Place is huge!  Sometimes the city does not cut the field and can be a drag.

If you're in Tacoma, go to Chambers Bay.  Absolutely beautiful place to fly with north or south winds. 

For burgers, check out Red Mill, Sport downtown, and 2 Bells Tavern.
