Hi,

Can anyone give me the standard bridle measurements/settings for the Flying Wings Soul standard?

I've recently bought one secondhand which has been modified and would like to check my  bridle measurements against the factory settings but I can't them on the Soul leaflet or on the web.

Thanks.

These are the measurements I took from my Soul std. that I bought from the Swap Meet.
It doesn't appear the bridle was modified. All of these measurements were taken from
the front surface of the spar and are approximate. They should get you in the ballpark.

Upper Outhaul: 22 1/2"
Mine was attached to the bottom pigtail knot.
My pigtail has four adjusting knots. This measurement includes the portion of the pigtail that was used. I hope this makes sense.

Lower Outhaul: 23"

Inhaul: 24"

Turbo: 3 1/2"
I'll let you do the math on which ever conversion chart that you like to use.
Let me know how yours measured up in comparison.

Thanks for that Norm.  I've just measured mine at upper outhaul 22 1/4" lower outhaul 24" inhaul 25" so not that far off.  My bridle has been modified a little as I have 7 knots on the upper pigtails.  Seems to fly Ok though.

Try this if you feel like tweaking.

Thanks for that ET.

OK, I've had the following Email from Flying Wings in Taiwan with the official bridle measurement for the standard Soul.

"My name is Albert Chen from FlyingWings kites Taiwan.

Thank you for purchasing Soul from Flying Wing

Here is the Bridle information:

Upper Outhaul: 21 2/8" (54cm)

Lower Outhaul: 22 7/16" (57cm)

Inhaul: 24 13/16" (63cm)

Turbo: 3 12/16” (9.5cm)

Have a nice wind!

Steve, Thanks for posting the bridle settings you got from Albert. I saved them for future use.
ET, thanks for the bridle tweek. I wrote them down also and will try them soon. It doesn't take much to make a big difference.
