Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

True story:
This morning, a twelve month old baby boy who was with his grandfather slipped through the rails of the Huntington Beach Pier, between my shop and the lifeguard tower on the pier. He fell about 40'. The baby landed flat on his back, in about 1' of water. A child who was standing nearby grabbed the baby from the water. The baby was unharmed. Had this happened 50' closer to my shop, he lands on sand. If it happened 50' further out, he falls in 3 - 4' of water in the surf. Two hours earlier or later, totally different tide. If he lands in any other position other than flat on his back, big trouble....there ya go.

 Shocked Ooops...

Gives new meaning to a 'bonny bouncing baby'.

And I wonder if he'll be able to keep the secret Undecided or there goes the babysitting duties...

Dave so did you give a kite as a reward to the child that pulled him out of the water. That was a hero move.

Thanks for sharing the story. That childs guardian angel was with him today.

I was at a school that day. I had called the lifeguard tower to check the weather and was given the report. Hasn't made the news around here yet. The city would probably prefer it didn't...

that pier is HUGE.  i'm amazed that the baby actually survived without any serious injuries.

i would definitely want to keep that story out of the media's hands.

Dave ~ How about reposting the KP8 (official) dates to make sure we get them on our calendars!

It's right around the corner (unfortunately a big, wide corner!)

Already looking forward to it!
