One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

PIR   Portland International Raceway. Just south of the interstate bridge. West side of the freeway. Just before you go under the flags & into the race track area is a big field on your right. Winds this time of year should be out of the NW but with this rainy period they have been out of the ESE. Typical inland winds, variable & shifty. I'm usually there around 4:15 if there is any wind.  Sherrell

Assuming you're talking about Portland, Oregon...

A place we commonly go is West Delta Park at the entrance to PIR.  It is a multi-use field which means dogs are not supposed to run free.  But sometimes dog owners in the dog park across the street aren't paying attention and there's the potential for issues.

Another place is a beach on Marine Drive near the airport.  Slightly better winds than Delta but twigs in the sand can snag lines.  It is near the M. James Gleason boat ramp.

Thanks for the replies guys. There wasn't any wind yesterday and it rained today. Nice looking place though. Maybe next trip.
